Is he talking about the same person who ignored repeated requests for more security and requests for help, got people killed, and didn't seem to know it was an Al-Quida operation? Why Obama got a pass by most for this whole tragedy that was a result of incompetence is bewildering.

Obama: ‘Couldn’t be prouder’ of Susan Rice

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice beams after President Barack Obama praises her "extraordinary" …President Barack Obama praised embattled U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice as "extraordinary" on Thursday as she looked on during a Cabinet meeting at the White House.
"Susan Rice is extraordinary. Couldn't be prouder of the job that she's done," Obama said in response to a question from a reporter. The president and the assembled top aides then applauded.
But Obama gave no clue as to whether he was any closer to nominating her—or anyone else—to succeed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Clinton has said she will be leaving her post after four years as America's top diplomat, a role in which she has won praise from Democrats and Republicans in Congress.
Rice, who is known to be close to Obama, is thought to be a top contender for the job. So is Democratic Sen. John Kerry, who chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. But she has become a lightning rod for Republican criticism of the administration's handling of the Sept. 11 attack on the American compound in Benghazi, Libya. Several top Republicans, including Sen. John McCain, have vowed to block her confirmation.
That assault claimed the lives of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans. Republicans have accused the administration of misleading the public by playing down intelligence that it was a terrorist attack. They have also charged that the administration ignored requests for increased security in Benghazi and expressions of concern about extremists operating in the eastern Libyan city.
The White House flatly denies deliberately misleading the public.

Re: Obama: Susan Rice is extraordinary? Give me a break
Fri, November 30, 2012 - 4:00 AMTrue, but one of the important jobs of the UN Ambassador is to coordinate with the State Department. Not recognizing an attack and calling it a demonstration, in these dangerous times, is not something I think we should look for in the next Secretary of State. -

incapable of original thinking- parroted the zionist line @ the recent united nations vote
Tue, December 4, 2012 - 4:57 PMLibya is such a bullshit issue.
Ending the Israeli Apartheid entity is far more important.
Rice would miserably fail here. -

Sun, December 9, 2012 - 1:27 AMThis whole Rice thing is a complete farce. She is not going to be nominated for anything, except maybe Obama' s political crony of the year.

i hope republicans enjoy their pelt. "
I don't think this should be thought of as a home team versus visiting team type of argument. The fact is that a senior diplomat went on TV to try to explain away a mismanaged tragedy and didn't have her facts straight. It shouldn't matter why she didn't have her facts straight, only that she didn't.
I think we should expect more out of a person wanting to be secretary of state then someone who just repeats the company line. It is right for her to be called out for any flaws, the stakes are too high to expect someone who just repeats whatever she's told.
