everybody get poor now!! and raise your hands and celebrate! the Obammas moneys gonna save you.
    • Are you saying it is Obama's fault that your finances are not in order?
      • << Are you saying it is Obama's fault that your finances are not in order? >>

        Um, what if it *is*?

I mean, if Obama's polices can't create jobs, there are likely people suffering out there for that very reason.

It's probably a loser for Dems to tell the unemployed to just suck it up.
        • <<<< Are you saying it is Obama's fault that your finances are not in order? >>

Um, what if it *is*? >>

That may or may not be the case, we don't know the details of this particular person's circumstances. Sometimes peoples financial problems rest squarely on their own shoulders.

<<I mean, if Obama's polices can't create jobs, there are likely people suffering out there for that very reason.

Jobs are being created, although at a sluggish pace. The stimulus $$ ran out and the GOP has been blocking any new jobs bills. It should also be noted that while the private sector is adding jobs, GOP govs have cut millions of public sector jobs.

<<'s probably a loser for Dems to tell the unemployed to just suck it up.

I don't think anyone is suggesting such a thing.
          • << Sometimes peoples financial problems rest squarely on their own shoulders. >>

And other times they're bailed out. Those "other times" seem to be set aside for crooked bankers and no one else.

<< Jobs are being created, although at a sluggish pace >>

"Sluggish" is a good word. "Slowed to a pace fuck near indistinguishable from recession" are other good words.

            << The stimulus $$ ran out >>

            1) Dollars for war never seem to, 2) the actual stimulus was *way* too small, 3) and applied to non-job intensive programs that failed to do the work of the more effective direct cash-in-hand payments of yesteryear. Something like a WPA style national jobs program should've been implemented 8 am Day One. Either that or simply hand people money to spend in an effort to stimulate consumption!

Anything else and critics are *right* to call bullshit on it as Keynesian "stimulus," because it ain't.
            • War is an economic drain upon economies -- that much is well known. To bad these so-called Conservatives did not seem to get that point; after their pact in the 1970's with the religious right, they seemed to crusade more then be the stingy-old-white-males refusing to spend money they don't need to?!
            • <<<< Sometimes peoples financial problems rest squarely on their own shoulders. >>

And other times they're bailed out.<<

I understand that. It does not change the fact that my question is a valid one.

<< "Slowed to a pace fuck near indistinguishable from recession" are other good words.

I don't believe such a characterization is backed up by the actual economic data.

<<1) Dollars for war never seem to, 2) the actual stimulus was *way* too small, 3)

              I agree with both points.

<<3) and applied to non-job intensive programs that failed to do the work of the more effective direct cash-in-hand payments of yesteryear.

Which programs are you speaking of?

<<Something like a WPA style national jobs program should've been implemented 8 am Day One.

I agree, but do you think such a thing would have passed the Senate considering the Republican power of the filibuster? Not to mention blue-dog Democrats who would have never voted for such an extenstive program?
              • <I agree, but do you think such a thing would have passed the Senate considering the Republican power of the filibuster?>

he got extremely unpopular healthcare bill passed. i think he could have gotten a massive infrastructure bill passed if he sold it properly, i.e. JOBS, MOTHERFUCKING JOBS, and MORE MOTHERFUCKING JOBS.

Ah, but politics come before the good of the Republic...
