      i love you sarah.

i watched it twice to see what i could tune in ...

seemed to involve forced sex, a plunging knife, and she is shaken to the core, utterly contrite, scared shitless and experiencing a deep deep sense of impending loss ... as in losing everything.

this will be some kinda show.

Palin's twit a couple of hours before her resignation:

from Josh Marshall's blog: "She apparently didn't realize she was resigning yet. Stuff obviously moving pretty quickly ..."

don't know about "forced sex" and "a plunging knife", but.... she came across as flustered, nervous and rambling. i actually felt sorry for her, and i'm 100% sure that it wasn't "simply a bid for more media coverage".

definitely not just a bid for media attention. she is major RATTLED. the sex and knife thing is what kept coming up when i queried her center. but who knows.

what i am certain of is that something B-I-G is about to break.

<what i am certain of is that something B-I-G is about to break.>

I would not be so certain. Personally, I think that she wants to get the fuck out of AK now that she's a national figure. She'd be stuck in AK for the next two years, and if she wants to do something about being president (oh, lord, that's funnny), then she can't do it from being up there.

So, I think that she just is moving on and moving forward. But, this is a really stupid thing to do if this is at all correct. Walking away from her responsibility there? Not a good sign.

What the fuck was that basketball bullshit?

<Maybe there is a big secret that's prompting her actions, but I really wouldn't be surprised if it's nothing more than being a brat.>

I'll go for "brat" for $20, Kelly.

<i dunno, to me it sounds like there is a major investigation that is going to take place anyway, even despite her resignation.>

If that was true, she'd stick around, because then she'd have the Governor's resources to fight it for a while. As a private citizen, she's on her own.

I get the distinct impression that she's just been itching to have her name splashed across the headlines once again. She got a taste of it and she wants more. This resignation is simply a bid for more media coverage.

IF she were a *real politician*, one that actually gave a shit about her constituents and her platform, she would use the time she has left in her current position to effect whatever changes her constituents requested of her.

But hey, if she's doing this because she wants to focus on running for U.S. Prez in 2012, then more power to her. I can't think of a better person I'd want running against Obama. She's an embarrassment, not just for the Republican party, not just for women, not just for the American people...but for our species as a whole. The drivel that comes out of her mouth has at least inspired some truly fabulous comedic work. ( With any luck she'll pick Megan Fox as her running mate- and if they don't win, they can at least inspire a reality show or two..."Moose of Love", or "Beauty and the Bimbo"- you pick who gets to play each role).

Palin is going to focus on her paintings of Vladimir Putin's forehead. She can see him from her bathroom window. After that, maybe shoot some wolves from a helicopter.

Well, one thing this proves - Palin IS a raging narcissist. Heard a big chunk of her press conference - this bit really stands out to me:

<And so as I thought about this announcement that I wouldn’t run for re-election and what it means for Alaska, I thought about how much fun some governors have as lame ducks… travel around the state, to the Lower 48 (maybe), overseas on international trade – as so many politicians do. And then I thought – that’s what’s wrong – many just accept that lame duck status, hit the road, draw the paycheck, and “milk it”. I’m not putting Alaska through that – I promised efficiencies and effectiveness! ? That’s not how I am wired. I am not wired to operate under the same old “politics as usual.” I promised that four years ago – and I meant it.

It’s not what is best for Alaska.

I am determined to take the right path for Alaska even though it is unconventional and not so comfortable...

...I do not want to disappoint anyone with my decision; all I can ask is that you TRUST me with this decision – but it’s no more “politics as usual”.

Some Alaskans don’t mind wasting public dollars and state time. I do. I cannot stand here as your Governor and allow millions upon millions of our dollars go to waste just so I can hold the title of Governor. And my children won’t allow it either. ? Some will question the timing. ? Let’s just say, this decision has been in the works for awhile…

In fact, this decision comes after much consideration, and finally polling the most important people in my life - my children (where the count was unanimous… well, in response to asking: “Want me to make a positive difference and fight for ALL our children’s future from OUTSIDE the Governor’s office?” It was four “yes’s” and one “hell yeah!” The “hell yeah” sealed it >

I mean, what the hell? She's not going to run again, so staying governor would be a waste of her time and Alaska's money? Isn't she saying outright that if she's not motivated by getting elected again, she wouldn't bother trying to be a good governor?

Really, it sounds like she just decided that it's not fun anymore, so she's going to take her blocks and go home. Never mind she agreed to, you know, do a job for four years.

Maybe there is a big secret that's prompting her actions, but I really wouldn't be surprised if it's nothing more than being a brat.

Those quote reveal some sort of dementia. . .is she saying that she would have no choice but to travel around and waste the state's money if she were a lame duck? her comments don't really make any sense. . .but they do reveal that she just doesn't have the brain power to be in a position of leadership at that level.

this talk is not weak because she doesn't have foreign policy experience, etc etc. it is weak because she is intellectually weak. feel sorry for her? she got in over her head and maybe doesn't even know it.

our party system is fucked up. . .people can just appear out of nowhere and with enough money and a winning smile, good hair. . .get elected.
we need something like major league baseball where people come up through the farm system, and if they can't hit a curve ball they don't make it. . .something like the parliamentary systems have. . .although of course that's no guarantee. .

she has been having a lot of problems with the state and she is getting lots of flack on the national scene. . .hopefully she realizes that she's just not cut out for the hard stuff. . .i mean for her children's sake if nothing else. . .it would be great for the democrats if she ran for prez. . .

but there's no reason why they deserve to have a big fat one lobbed over the plate. .

just heard the speech.........and my ears are bleeding.

can't wait to hear the true reasons for her resignation.

Iceberg scandal.......maybe a code word for mountains of snow (aka cocaine/ heroin) :)

as much i disliked her.............i wish the kids were the reasons for her to quit............i hope for her to have realized that having 4 underaged kids and a down syndrom baby is not compatible with running a state.
it would be perfectly ok to be a gov. if her husband would have been a stay at home dad..........but he is not......as much i know he is away weeks at times fishing or drilling ( no...not greta van sustern).

still.......this is not kosher......something sits in a bush and is ready to jump out.

Maybe this time the feds will get their collective head out of their ass long enough to do it right and win a conviction that sticks...

Naaaaahhhhhh... That would require competence and intelligence.

Aside from the political trench war, I still do think there was good last election in how Palin was able to rise in the Republican party. I saw Palin as more of a Populist than as a Republican. Obama also was more Populist than Democrat. I do not agree with many of Palin's current stated views and gaffs, yet I do believe She does have the potential to become much more than how our great infotainment industry plays her.
