Too bad hardly anyone really believes that. How many here would really defend to the death the right of, say, a Nazi to speak hatred?

Yup.
THIS is why the presidency is so important. The President appoints the SCOTUS justices, and here - so far - this kind of speech has rightfully remained legal.
