I'm going to offer probationary readmittances to people who have been removed from the Politics tribe who reapply for admittance. The conditions for readmittance are simply that one conform completely to the rules of the tribe (no flaming, trolling, etc.). However, those admitted under these conditions will not be given any leeway while on probation. Violate the rules once and I will remove the individual for the remainder of my term as moderator.
If after a reasonable amount of time I see an individual continuing to make a good faith effort to conform their behavior to the rules of the tribe and post in a way that's consistent with an air of civility in discussing issues, I will then treat them like anyone else (i.e. they will no longer be on probation).
Additionally, unlike others, in the interests of avoiding trolling, and to avoid possible antagonisms resulting from their readmittance, individuals readmitted under probation are prohibited from creating thread titles that flame broad classes of people, specifically classes that one should know tribe members belong to.

I'll give Dave Y a better chance than the last two though of not getting booted again, but who knows. -

Re: Dave Y is being given probationary readmittance
Tue, November 3, 2009 - 5:01 PMWho is Dave Y? I am at least familiar with the names of most of the people who get tossed because they offend repeatedly and spectacularly. I am not sure I have even seen one of this guy's posts . . .
